Plain "Old Fashioned" Cookies

Last Morning of 2015!
Call it nostalgia or boredom. Not quite sure but I thought that I should leave 2015 by baking an old fashioned recipe.
The kind of recipe our grandma’s would have baked. Rolling out, cookie cutters and sprinkles…
I must say it was easier than I thought and a heap of fun!

Plain “Old Fashioned” Cookies (Makes +/- 50)

3 C      Cake Flour
½ t     Baking Powder
½ t     Crème of Tartar
1 C       Sugar
250 g  Margarine
2          Eggs
  • Sift Cake Flour, Baking Powder and Crème of Tartar in a bowl.
  • Add Sugar and stir through.
  • Add Margarine to dry ingredients and rub in.
  • Add Eggs to form a soft dough.
  • Cover with Cling Wrap and refrigerate for ½ hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Grab some flour, cookie cutters and sprinkles.
  • Spray or Oil some baking sheet pans.

  • Sprinkle a clean surface with some flour, roll out some dough to ½ cm thick, cut out some shapes and decorate.
  • Place in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Pretty, Light and Crispy…
