What is a Cronut? It is Croissant dough shaped like a doughnut and then fried.
Croissant + Doughnut = Cronut
This is my mini version, Cronut Pops.
Ingredients:
Puff Pastry (store bought)
Oil
Castor Sugar
1. Defrost the Puff Pastry until it is at room
temperature.
2. Lay the pastry out on a well-floured work surface.
3. Measure and cut the pastry into small equal squares.
4. Fill a small pot to a third of the way with Oil.
5. Heat the Oil until it’s hot enough to start
frying.
Tip:
Test if the Oil is hot enough by frying small pieces of dough. When the dough
fries quickly, puffs up and floats to the top, it is ready.
6. Fry 8 to 10 pieces of the Puff Pastry mini squares
at a time.
7. When they puff up, float to the top, turn them to
the other side to fry.
8. Remove it from the Oil. Place on a piece of
Kitchen Towel to remove the excess Oil.
9. Dust them with Castor Sugar.
Lotsa Love
